![]() ![]() But as before, when I make a paint node in Fusion and chose the erase brush, absolutely nothing would happen. (That choice ONLY appeared if the format could actually do it.) Then brought THAT file back into my timeline and tried to erase. I tried rendering the MP4 in Resolve, with a menu choice of "Add alpha channel" clicked on. But I learned that certain Apple formats, MOV and some GoPro thing could. But I'm not sure what I could do with the PSD file other than making it into a GIF animation first. ![]() I did realize they needed an alpha channel, and quickly learned that MP4's can't do alpha. Then scanning each one into a TIF file, then building a PSD file of as many layers as the animation is (usually around 50 frames, but some over a 100), registering and cleaning all the frames there and then taking the PSD into Image Ready or GIMP and exporting as a GIF animation. I'm drawing it on 5x8 paper on a light table. It's a bit ridiculous how I'm doing this animation. If the character had solid lines around it, then it would be easier to work with from a magic wand type fix stand point. Where was it built? can you go back to that source and put it on a transparent bg. Glenn Sakatch wrote:really your character animation should have been built with an alpha in the first place. So, unless there are other tricks I don't know about, this all seems to be boiling down to a simple question of how to properly create an alpha channel such that I can then use an erase brush to erase any part of the video of my choosing. Both of these methods keep the black lines, but you can see the color background through his body.Ĭoloring in his body is out of the question. I've also tried a transform/Lumakey in Fusion, but again that removes background and body. But that of course removes BOTH the background AND the figure's body. The closest I've come to removing the background is by adding an alpha channel in the Color edit, and going through directions there. Then I go back to Fusion and try using the erase brush with the Paint node, and nothing ever happens. I find that (I forget which) and click on "add alpha channel" in the menu. I tried to render/convert to a format that allows for an alpha channel. And that's where I'm stumped.Īs I understand it I must have an alpha channel in the video to even THINK of erasing anything. So then I tried to find various ways to erase, the thought being that at least erasure, with a stylus, might prove to be easier than pushing all those path points around. Which is to say, I made the polygon mask on frame 1, and then painstakingly moved it for each subsequent frame as the figure moves.Īlthough as an animator I'm used to painstaking work, I found that very difficult to do, especially when I realized I would be doing this for hundreds of frames for the final work. And I've done this as an experiment for a very very short clip, of around 20 frames. I started off, in Fusion, making a polygon mask around the outline of his body. The problem is how to "cut out" the figure so that only his body appears but not any of the white background outside of his white body. It's hard to explain but suffice to say it is in color and fills up what will be the background. I'm trying to place him against other "stuff" I've created. That "background" includes the figure's body. I made an animation that is just black lines against white background. I'm learning Resolve inch by inch as I need various features. I'm a humble animator, using Resolve largely as an editor. Otherwise I don't know, because the error message is still for TVPaint 11 instead of 11.5., even though I'm opening the correct one.īildschirmfoto um 17.51.50.png (49.Please excuse me in advance if this comes across as a ridiculously stupid question. ![]() So maybe it doesn't transfer to my laptop and that's why the program is timing out? There's one that's pre-selected and it's always the same, no matter what I connect. I transferred it to the web to then transfer it to my computer, but I can't choose to which CmContainer I want to transfer it to. It might be a problem with the license, but I'm not sure. An I've also checked the security settings. I managed to install the post Sierra version of the code meter and the dongle less version now but it still errors. What I wanted to say was that the dongle less license doesn't work either. With the limited version you have been given, there's no need to have a dongle I think They gave me a time limited version of TVPaint 11.5 and I have to send in the Dongle for an exchange to the permanent dongle less version. ![]()
